Merging inspiration and Spring Trends

If you know me, you know that I am not conventional when it comes to executing trends. I take current trends, mix it with my personal inspirations, and throw a splash of my personality in the outfits that I wear. I've been trying for weeks to execute the floral trend but I didn't want to do the typical floral dress. Like most people, Sade Adu is a constant inspiration and mood for me. While browsing my Instagram feed some time back,  I came across a picture of Sade performing in a cheongsam dress, and I knew I found my look. If you don't know what cheongsam is, it is a Manderine and Cantaonese inspired body-hugging one-piece Chinese dress ( I make sure I do my research when I dip into other cultures for inspo). Well, this weekend I executed my floral look! I went to China town and purchased a cheongsam dress and paired it with some lavender knee high boots. Let me know your thoughts and if you will be trying out a floral trend this SS/17.
